About Astrology

Astrology has been practiced by man for thousands of years; it is one of the world's oldest religions.

For millennia, man has looked to the heavens for insight into his troubles and for meaning in his life.

Perhaps the earliest horoscope (2767 B.C.) was cast by an Egyptian named Imhotep, the architect of the Great Steppe Pyramid at Saqqarah. Astrology was practiced by the Greeks, Babylonians, Indians, Chaldeans, and Chinese.

Many early astronomers, including Ptolemy, Kepler, Copernicus, and Nostradamus, also practiced astrology.

AQUARIUS

Jan 20—Feb 18

Brotherhood and love of freedom mark the character of an Aquarian. They make friends easily and are concerned with every aspect relating to the human condition. For the Aquarian, honesty and sincerity reign over the accepted conventions, and thus they may sometimes upset the status quo. Outwardly, the Aquarian may appear calm, but, in reality, they are usually anxious and apprehensive since they take work and friendships so seriously.  Aquarians should realize that to improve their character they must understand limitations and apply them in the most effective manner possible.

PISCES

Feb 19—Mar 20

Pisceans are extremely sensitive to the thoughts and feelings of others. Lack of strong willpower is made up by their sympathy for those they come in contact with, especially the poor, weak, or downcast. Generosity is occasionally bountiful, but usually to those who are "worthy" of the Piscean.  As a rule, the Piscean is good-natured and benevolent but is frequently shy and reserved around others. "Moderation" is a keyword for the Piscean as the duality of this sign keeps them on an even keel, content in the background, frequently keeping them from speaking up and taking a stand on an issue.

ARIES

Mar 21—Apr 19

The Sun in Aries represents new beginnings. They are full of enthusiasm and creative energy and are ready to apply this energy to initiate new enterprises. Never intimidated by failure, they are always ready to overcome obstacles and seek new challenges. These people have a strong desire to lead the way for others, finish first and prove themselves more through actions and deeds than through words. As a rule, they may "get their feet wet" in many different things without realizing the commitment or giving the complete attention necessary to succeed.

TAURUS

Apr 20—May 20

As a Taurean, there is a definite need for security. This desire extends to all aspects of one's life, particularly relationships. Like others born with the Sun in Taurus, this person enjoys the good things in life and will work hard to obtain those material goods which bring both comfort and pleasure. Taureans are extremely loyal to both friends and loved ones. One must realize that what is most important in human relationships is respect and true understanding.

GEMINI

May 21—June 20

The Gemini character is marked by mental agility and activity. They like to think and act quickly and decisively. Thirst for knowledge is as great as the eagerness to study and learn new things. As a rule, the Geminian has a definite need for intellectual security in all relationships. These people tend to be their own persons, doing things their own way. As such, they are nonconformists, and tend to fight tradition and the status quo. The Geminian will not hesitate to question things that are "written in stone", believing in them only after careful and diligent examination.

CANCER

June 21—July 22

Cancers greatly desire security, especially domestic tranquility.  They are most happy at home, among beloved family members and will strive hard to secure those things which bring peace and contentment to family. Frequently, this domestic joy will be extended to work and encompass friends. The Cancer character is marked by being very protective of both one's self and loved ones. As a rule they are generally introverted among acquaintances but are open and fiercely loyal to close friends and family members. There is a tendency to shy away from crowded places and seek shelter in lonely places.

LEO

July 23—Aug 22

The Sun in Leo marks one who has a strong will and great ambition. These people usually enjoy being the center of attention and desire others to think well of them. Their creative accomplishments generally put them in the spotlight, usually outshining coworkers who may become jealous of their proud attitude. Like other Leonians, they are more concerned with the "big picture" than with the numerous small details in life. As such, they tend to enjoy being in authority and will work and are usually successful at achieving their desires.

VIRGO

Aug 23—Sep 22

Virgos are very methodical and practical persons, who pay meticulous attention to every detail in life. Like other Virgoans, when they do a job they do it very well and take great pride in their accomplishments, doing their utmost to rely on themselves before seeking help from others. "Perfection" is important to the Virgoan, thus, natives are very cautious in entering any type of relationship. They may very well search long and hard for a mate (business or romantic) who satisfies their discriminating tastes. After finding this mate, the Virgoan may go overboard with affections.

LIBRA

Libran have a strong sense of justice and fair play. Their view of life is most definitely egalitarian, with a great desire to undertake new endeavors, usually seeking the cooperation of others on an equal basis. They exemplify the "team player" but may naively expect too much of others. Like others born with the Sun in Libra, they show great sensitivity to matters concerning other people and great interest in society as a whole. Frequently, Librans will work for others without thinking of themselves, though they must guard against being exploited by others.

SCORPIO

A Scorpion's character is marked by intense emotion and desire. To others, their willfulness and strength may be interpreted as a sign of stubbornness, but it is really a manifestation of a great desire to do everything perfectly, sometimes overworking themselves to get the job done. Typically, they engage in intense romantic relationships and always appear strong and compassionate to those who look to them for support and strength. This may occasionally mask their own insecurities and prevent them from seeking help from others, making them introverted.

SAGITTARIUS

The Sun in Sagittarius indicates one who is naturally friendly, outgoing, and energetic. As a rule, this person cherishes freedom and personal liberty and has a great love for travel and exploring new vistas of opportunity. Many times the person will not hesitate to recruit others to a cause. Like other Archers, this person is apt to be idealistic and usually has a great deal of interest in matters of spirit, ethics, and society as a whole. There is a great deal of love for all types of people and all forms of life. Enthusiasm for life and people makes it hard for the them to "put down roots".

CAPRICORN

Dec 22—Jan 19

A Capricornian's character is marked by being practical and self-reliant. Patience and persistence, especially in achieving success through constant hard work, are the person's trademarks, as well as having faith in one's self and ability to handle all the difficulties of life. Although warm and friendly to close friends, they are somewhat aloof and closed to strangers. Capricornian's are eager, though, to sacrifice for others and from those they respect or those in authority.
